SESSION: 2 HOURS

Metabolic Screening and Training Considerations for Adult Beginners— with Dr. Mark Cucuzzella

There is increasing demand for coaching adults who are unfit. Many start an exercise routine because they have lost their vibrancy, and no longer like their bodies, or because their physician has recommended they start exercising. For a coach, such a client often brings with them a host of health considerations, such as obesity, diabetes and other common metabolic disorders as well as mechanical weaknesses, and self-esteem issues. These can be daunting and sometimes beyond the scope of a typical performance-orientated coach. Sedentary adults need accurate starting point assessments and gentle informed guidance. This session provides coaches with guidelines and tools for assessing newbies, and how to safely direct them into a new exercise habit without getting them and yourself out of depth.
