15-hour course done over 1 month.

  • The Five Phases and their Workouts,

  • The Essential Weekly Training Rhythm

  • The Lydiard Pyramid

  • Recovery Indicators

  • Goal-setting and Assessing the Starting Point

  • Seasonal and Long-term Planning

  • Case Studies are offered for discussion. The course culminates with an interactive review of all materials and a run-through of the exam questions and case studies. Instructors offer personal guidance for the successful passing of the end-of-course exam to earn the coaching student a Lydiard II Coaching Certification.

Lydiard™ LIII Advanced Coach Award


Enrollment in the Lydiard III Coach Mentorship Case Study Course.

For Lydiard® Certified Coaches, this six month course offers eight webinars with hands-on Coach Mentoring using real live case studies.

Each two hour webinar includes a presentation of an advanced aspect of Lydiard® Coaching, discussion and group sharing of ongoing case study progress.

To earn LIII certification coaches submit in writing, and are invited to present, ONE case study undertaken.

Lydiard I & II certification is a pre-requisite for enrolling in the Lydiard III Coach Mentorship Case Study Course.

Lydiard Stand Alone Courses

We offer a range of teachings of value to Lydiard Coaches who wish to learn from some of the world’s foremost instructors. These courses are accessible for all coaches and runners and will be available from time to time on our course website. To access click the button at the bottom of this page.

Topics include a deeper dive into endurance physiology and how it is applied to the Lydiard Pyramid. Additionally, applying Lydiard training to Beginners, Youth, Masters, Women, Elite athletes, and specialty groups such as Middle Distance, Marathon, Ultra-running, Triathlon and other sports are offered. Other topics offer training in sports nutrition, longevity, children’s fitness development, athlete and performance psychology, and historical and philosophical influences.

Our staff of Lydiard instructors includes our Patron, Barry Magee, Dr. Keith Livingstone, Dr. Mark Cucuzzella, Greg McMillan, Coach Colin Lancaster, and Olympic medalists Lorraine Moller and Rod Dixon, along with guest instructors, strive to bring the most up-to-date research and innovations in endurance sport while maintaining the integrity of the Lydiard Method.

We aim to accommodate as many of our international coaches as we can. Dates and times for modules will be posted on our course website when they become available. These courses will be live webinars or pre-recorded.
